that is the states responsibility because Teaching is something people do across the u.s. and It should be the state’s responsibility.

b. Make a treaty with a foreign country

that would be states responsibility because a treaty is when to states agree to pretty much be peace full with eacth other.

c. Set health codes for restaurants

That would have to be the federal government because thats one of the things they have power over.

d. Issue a marriage license

federal government because that has something to do with the public.

e. Declare war

thats the state’s responsibility because thats wether or not that state will fight or not.

5th-8th Amendment Assignment

The Rights of the Accused

The Fifth through Eighth amendments outline the following rights for people accused of criminal acts.

• They cannot be tried twice for the same crime.
• They cannot be forced to testify against themselves.
• They are entitled to due process of law.
• They have the right to a speedy trial before a jury of their peers, or equals.
• They must be told of the charges against them.
• They have the right to a lawyer and to witnesses in their defense.
• They cannot be subjected to excessive bail or fines, nor to any cruel or unusual punishment.
• Only a grand jury can indict (charge) someone with a capital crime (a crime punishable by death).

On your blog, define the following terms:

Witness- to see, hear or know thing's that happend.

Indict- to charge with affence or crime.

Testify- To bear witness; affrim or give evidence.

Grand Jury- a jury at law of 12- 23 people.
Due Process- The regular administration of the law.

Capital Punishment- Death Penatialy.

Excessive- excessive charges; excessive critism.

Bail- amount of money paid to be released.

Peer- A person of the same leagle status.

Write a paragraph (5-7 sentences) answering the following questions:

Do you believe that people accused of crimes deserve all of these rights or just some of them? Why or why not?

I don't think That people accused of crimes deserve all the right's it would have to depend on what they were being accused of.

2nd-4th Amendment

The Right to Bear Arms

The Second Amendment safeguards the right of citizens to keep or bear arms.

When it was adopted in 1791, this amendment referred to the right of states to maintain militia for their own security.

In recent years, the right to bear arms has erupted into a controversy that has sometimes divided the nation.

On one hand, there are those who support some kind of gun control in the hope of reducing violence. On the other hand, opponents of gun control say the amendment allows citizens the right own any guns they choose.

Housing Soldiers
The Third Amendment guarantees the security of the home. Soldiers may not be stationed in any house unless the owner agrees. Congress could, however, pass a law during wartime that would allow for this if it were necessary.

This amendment was added because Americans thought it was unfair that the government in Britain forced people to house British soldiers.

Search & Seizure

The Fourth Amendment protects one’s home and property against unreasonable searches and seizures.

Under most circumstances, police officers must obtain a warrant from a judge in order to search someone’s house or other possessions.

1. Describe one argument for and one argument against gun control. What is your opinion on the issue?

Well one argument for gun control, Gun Control is good because, you would be able to protect yourself if someone was trying to hurt you or someone else. But it can also be a bad thing too if you miss use it it can also be considered a crime and some people think with gun control our safety... well less safe and other people think we will be safer with it. My opinion is I don't know if it will be a good thing or a bad thing to have gun control.

2. Do you think it is fair to force people to open their homes to soldiers during wartime? Why or why not?

I don't think it's fair to MAKE people to have soldier's during the wartime because, If they don't want to they should not have too. But if some people are willing to let soldier's stay in their home's then that's okay to but I don't think it's all that fair to FORCE people to do something they don't want to do.

3. Describe a situation in which the police might be able to obtain a warrant to search a house or a building.

Well to cause the police to want to search a house or a building is most likely if something had been happening around that area and the police are worried that someone might get hurt or something that would cause them to want to search the house or building.

B. Write 2-3 sentences about why the First Amendment is important to you:
The First Amendment is important to me. Without the First Amendment we wouldn't
have free Speech. Plus we wouldn't be able to think for ourselves, We wouldn't be able to have free religion. We would have everything forced upon us which is definitely not right. We deserve to think for ourselves.
